The Contemporary 90210

Hey guys!

I love seeing interiors that have been revamped by interior designers and architects, so I'm always researching cool renovations which still keep their ultra chic and luxurious style, while updating to the client's liking. Luxe Interiors + Design mag covered a Beverly Hills Georgian-style home built in 1942 that was revamped by an exceptional team of architects and designers. I'm more focused on the interiors which were done by Cari Berg of Cari Berg Interior Design; her designs are ultra modern-contemporary, elegant and effortless in the Beverly Hills home with the straight lines, warm neutrals with subtle colors, and soft textures.

I can talk on and on about this design but I won't bore you with my extra gabbing....Enjoy!

The sitting area with a glassed fire place displays the modern-contemporary feel that this home exonerates. I love the texture that can be seen on the throw pillows; the shine that the pillow fabric picks up from the natural sunlight adds to the 'Beverly Hills star' feel. The dark legs of the seating grounds the space and also picks up with the black abstract in the wall art.

Cari Berg actually designed the leather coffee table! Those little draw pulls are actually tray inserts for drinks which was a great idea, especially if the homeowners entertain a lot. What do you think about the color choices here? I love the warm neutrals used because it doesn't edge out the Georgian-style that the architects were trying to preserve.

This grey and white graphic fabric is really cool right? It's a Christopher Farr Cloth fabric and it's very simple, yet the graphic on the fabric makes the eat-in area a little more interesting. And I love a Roman shade especially in kitchen settings, so this was one of my fav images from the home.

The antique mirror in the space is amazing! I really like the chandelier in this space and the choice to continue on with the white and grey color scheme. Lots of seating in the room allows for great elegant dinner parties. It's funny because the work that the architects of Studio Tim Campbell completed within the home is definitely not overwhelmed by the interior design, this fact just keeps amazing me in every space. We're able to appreciate the work of the architects and the interior designer at the same time which is rare.

Here we get to see a little bit of color introduced into the home, but not overwhelming. I love the pattern of the wood flooring and the modern settees' legs kinda mimic the flooring. The crackle vases are pretty awesome too because it softens the colors out in the space and they're also great accents for the table.

Built-ins are always a fun feature for any room because you can dress a room up by putting pieces into them. The designer chose to use books here, and books of all different colors which actually adds color to the space without having to do it with through fabrics. If it so happened that the homeowners didn't want color, it would be an easy fix to remove the books and fill the cubbies with accent pieces like simple hurricane vases with candles and picture frames with black and white images to subdue any color.

Thanks for popping by!

With gratitude,
Safiya Jamila
