Let the light show begin!
One of our favourite signature moves is to always install beautiful, show-stopping light fixtures. Not only do they give the rooms a touch of luxury, but it also pulls all aspects of the design together so effortlessly.
First off, when we first arrived to do our initial walk-through, this space was not the designated spot for the dining room. But, it ultimately became the area that we wanted use because having the dining room in close proximity to the living/TV room made more sense in this project because the homeowner loves to entertain with friends.
The main way to differentiate the dining room from the main living room is (in this case) eye-catching lighting. Yes, we also have the dining table and chairs with interior accessories - but in the new design, the entire back wall would be covered with custom drapery, therefore we needed something spectacular to give the dining room it's own identity.
When choosing lighting for an area, there are a few things we take into consideration:
- The size of the room VS the size of the lighting
- The light output (how much light does the fixture give off?)
- The design style (crystal, chrome, bronze, etc.)
- The height (can the height be adjusted?)
This project turned out so gorgeous with just a few changes with MAJOR impact.
