Table-scaping for Thanksgiving!

Oh how I love this time of year!

Getting together with family and friends, eating delicious foods, and of course creating a tablescape that trumps the one from last year.

But what exactly are the components of a great tablescape?

Is it having the perfect table? Should it be rectangular, round or square? Should you use store-bought decor or make your own? Soooo many questions! Well lets break them down together, one-by-one.

Rectangular, round or square?

One tradition that we tend to see most of the time, and I would totally recommend for a large gathering, is the use of the rectangular table. It usually seats more people and more than one can be joined so that nobody feels left out or placed at a table that they don't like.

I personally like the rectangular above the other two tables because it just gives more flexibility for larger gatherings (which is what the holiday season is all about).

If, however, you are working with a smaller crowd and you are hosting your get-together in a smaller dining room, my recommendation would be to go with either a round or square. Round tables create a chic look  for small spaces and create better movement throughout the room.

Store bought decor or DIY?
Personally, my DIY projects for tablescaping is rated at average so I prefer store-bought decor. Not only does it save time so you can get on with the cooking and cleaning, but they also add a chic touch that some DIY projects don't.

How cute is the table decor in the image up above?! I totally love the way they put their personal touch on the mini foliage and made it very personable for the guest to feel welcomed.

All in all, Thanksgiving is a time to feel gratitude and love for everything and everyone in your life, and hopefully creating a beautiful table for your guests is just the icing on the cake!

Happy & safe Thanksgiving :)
